[Feed Discussions Addon] Feeds - never updating

I have installed the Feed Discussions V0.9.1 plugin to Version 2.0.17.8 and none of the RSS feeds ever import. The RSS links I've used are valid and I have tried different frequencies to no avail.
The dashboard status simply reads 'Updated: never' for each feed.
Is this a known bug (would be a real show stopper!) or something more funky?
P.S. Not sure what the 'Gayness' is regarding Yahoo feeds, as per one of the code comments.
