  • Kosmo, If you take any card manufactured between 99 to 01 with only 64mb of sdram that meets just slightly above the bare minimum, you'll see the fps difference :) trust me.
  • If you try to run UT2k4 in a 8-bit Nintendo it will run crappy, but it still doesn't mean anything. What I mean by CPU heavy, is that when you have state of the art CPU and state of the art GPU, the CPU is still a bottleneck, even at those speeds. Sure the GPU becomes a bottleneck if you really want, put a AMD 64 FX-60 on a computer with a Riva TNT and the GPU becomes a huge bottleneck but it still doesn't mean that the game is GPU heavy.
  • Well, that's basically what I was implying then. However it still does tend to be a little taxing under some of the latest hardware. No major FPS loss, but still, nothing I would consider too bad at this resolution :D
  • But when you check out some speed records some guys are trying on water cooled computers (for some strange reason, Finland has a huge scene of overclockers and several speed records) you can get easily over 200fps when really cranking up the clocks, but UT2k4 isn't a good measure of GPU speed since Radeon X850PE and GeForce 7800GTX give the same fps amounts with the same CPU, and that is because of the CPU bottleneck. And that is what I was talking about.
  • Well, in that case, yeah, you're going to hit roadblocks, and some serious instabilities. If you don't set your office on fire first.
  • I prefer plasma...
