If you install the actual Vanilla Forums plugin for WordPress and use the included embed plugin then it will allow you to add your own subdirectory name to the embed page. So insetad of
http://yoursite.com/#y/blahblah
you can make ithttp://yoursite.com/forum/#y/blahblah
and it will still link up to your /community/ forum. The hash IDs are a nice thing to have so your users can copy and paste the permalink to the page they're viewing while using the embed iframe.Add Pages to Vanilla with the Basic Pages app
Thanks for the response. I understand that i can do this. I already am doing this. I just wanted to keep it cohesive as far as being able to use the widgetizing features of vanilla plugin for wordpress and managing the assets in one place.
The question is why the F#*% is the 'y' being referenced after the '#' up in the url. It's mind boggling. Doesn't make sense. Can't track down the issue. If it was not there I would totally move forward with the "#'. I understand that's what make it be able to pass the url to the frame and users can share links and links can be reference by social tool.
The questions remains. Where and Why does this not just work all sexy with no problems. Seems like it would. Just slap it in and your off. Hopefully this will get and administrators attention and it can be resolved.
Cheers and thanks for the heads up,
