configuring an smtp host
Isaac
New
I would like to configure my forum for gmail's smtp host, so that outgoing mail can be sent through our email account.
I did some searching, and couldn't find anything relating to vanilla 2, it seems like everything is vanilla 1.
When I configure using tls, I get this error: 'Language string failed to load: tlsSMTP server error: '
SSL (and basically all other combination of settings) is slightly less buggy:
SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host.
I can't be sure if the problem is with my host (byethost.com) or with vanilla. Has anyone gotten gmail outgoing smtp to work in Vanilla 2? and what settings did you use?
