[SOLVED] Getting "permission denied" for all users on login except the first one created.

Hi all,

I've set up Vanilla on my lighttpd server, using rewrite rules from here and everything is working great with the exception of user registration. I am using Basic Registration with a captcha.

The original administrator account works fine, but every time I try and create a new account using the "Apply for Membership" button, the form just bumps me back to the homepage with no message. If I try and sign in with the email and password I just submitted, I get a "Sorry, no account could be found related to the email and password you entered." message first, then on subsequent attempts "Permission denied."

Using my administrator account, I can verify that the user is being added to the system (the new account shows up in the "Users" section of the admin panel). Creating a user or resetting the user's password via the admin panel don't help. The "Forgot Password" link sends the password-reset email correctly, and I can submit a new password. But trying to log in with that new password has the same results.

Any ideas?
