Category Permission Problem
Hi,
I am having a problem with discussion category permissions. I have two different user roles in my forum (Consumer & Provider). I am trying to turn off access to some of the discussion categories for the "Consumer" user. The problem is that the changes are not taking effect after I uncheck the permission boxes and click "save".
See here
Then the other categories is unchecked but is still showing up for the "Consumer" user.
It seems like sometimes it works and sometimes not. I was able to turn off the view permission for "Guest". So not sure what is going on here.
Anyone run into this kind of thing before?
Thanks for any help.
Lance

1) me overlooking the fact that I had my test account set as the wrong role so it naturally was having access to things that it should not have.
2) the bug that is described in this post.

When you save the changes in the custom permissions section when editing a category it makes the changes in the database so that it should work correctly. However if you go back to make another edit the page has defaulted back and is not accurately representing what is in the database. Basically you have to change the permission settings each time you click the save button, otherwise those default settings will update the database again.
Hope this helps anyone else who discovers this problem before the bug is fixed.
