simple question about images

Hello.
Perhaps I've missed something obvious, but I don't see where a person can include an image in their post.

I see where a person can "attach" a file, but that doesn't show in the body of the post; it's just a link.

I did discover that I can use tags, but my users aren't coders and they're not going to know how to (or want to) write out an tag.

So, how does a person put an image in their post? Is there an addon for that? Or is it, as I said, staring me right in the face?

That is one of those plugins that everyone is waiting for eagerly, i.e. a gallery plugin.
