users are signed out, when clicking some discussion links in the forum

I am using this plugin with vanilla 2.0.17.8, and whenever:
- a user is signed in, but not with "keep me signed in"
- he clicks on whatever discussion page in the main menu
the user is redirected to the sign-in page (he is practically logged out).
This is very frustrating.
Could someone share similar experience or a solution to this bug?

Does nobody else experience this?
I presume it could be a problem of "how fast the SQL server gives a response" and I noticed that in times, when the server of my provider is reacting slowly, this bug happens more.
