Is Filebrowser production ready?

Hi, I was looking for a small script to implement such a feature in a simple way, and Filebrowser seems to be a great choice.

However, on the main page I came across with this notice: "Development and support for the Filebrowser has been discontinued."

I know it doesn't state that is beta software or anything, but I was wondering if this software was safe for public use.

Also, I'm curious on why was it discontinued...
