I want Vanilla forums for my website - but how do I migrate from phpBB?

I'm pretty new at this, although I consider myself pretty savvy and a quick learner. I want to install Vanilla Forums, but I don't want to lose all of the content which I already have on my website. Via the file manager from my webhosting provider, how would I make the crossover? Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.
