Notification icon doesn't go away

Hi,

I am using embedded vanilla on my wordpress enabled site http://www.ronakg.in/discussions/. I get a notification icon on my profile whenever someone comments on my bookmarked thread, but that icon doesn't go away even when I visit the thread. I have to manually go to my profile and click on Notifications tab to reset the icon.

How do I fix it? Better if I can remove it altogether, I don't find it very useful.

That's just the behavior of Vanilla. If you want to remove the icon altogether then I'd recommend css.

  • I was wondering if its possible to have a route for the notification ie of the post and then do a quick lookup of any notifications with that route and dismiss them. (so change the count). Obviously there is a bit more overhead to this, but could be something that some javascript can ship off, so after page is loaded ajax with the route which will dismiss them, and could then update the count in the sidebar for example. Just a thought, maybe there are some reasons why this has not been implemented so far.
