New Users Creation via code

Hi All, I'm integrating a vanilla forum into a site with an existing login. I would like to automatically create a forum account for all our existing users, and for new users, when they create an account, I would like to automatically generate a forum account for them. First, is this possible. Second, where in the code base should I look for user account creation?
