Pockets html won't show up

I think either pockets is broken or I'm not using this plugin right. When placing html in the pocket body is there something special you need to do to break the default parameters that encompass it?

I've lost faith in vanilla... it's far too limiting when you can just grab a phpBB or SimpleMachines forum that actually works
