ProxyConnect without Wordpress

Hi!
After reading the documentation it is unclear whether Proxyconnect can be easily integrated with other systems than Wordpress.
I am a beginner and cannot do some complex manipulations...

    Yes it can. I have it running flawlessly with a custom system. You really need to pay attention that you are setting up the cookies properly and your cookie.php file.

    Seconded to @matthewkris - I set it up with my own web application's login system. It took a little fiddling, but it was surprisingly straightforward, and one of the main reasons I used Vanilla vs other forum options. Look at the tagged proxyconnect discussions here for troubleshooting tips - especially how to set up your response format page.
