Embedding on an AJAX page

Has anyone gotten vanilla to embed on an AJAX page? Obviously adding a tag after the page has already loaded isn't going to work. Also I believe the embed uses the hash to keep track of the page in the iFrame, but my AJAX site also uses the hash to keep track of history so I believe they would be in conflict.
