New Super Mario Bros Video - w00t :D

edited February 2006 in Vanilla 1.0 Help
Suddenly, I desire a DS...

As you may know, I am totally an old-school Mario junkie. I've gone to LAN parties and played nothing but Mario 3 (which I consider to be the best game ever made, without question). If this game turns out not to suck (and so far it's looking awesome), I'm buying a mini DS immediately.

  • Doesn't look too far different from previous SMB games, looks more or less like a combination of the first 3 SMB titles. Oh well, I'd wait until the DS Lite models come out :)

Which for me is heaven; we haven't gotten a good SMB game for over a decade. :D

Heck yes; there's a navy blue one with my name on it.
  • Oh, I forgot the best part, no crappy voice acting!
  • "It's me! Mario" Would count as crappy voice acting :D But anyway, I'm definedly picking this one up, and Bergie, have you tried Papermario Thousand Year Door, it's absolutely great SMB game, and it draws heavily on the first three mario games.

Yeah, thousand year door rocked (as did the first PM) but it's not the kind of game you play through over and over. And any voice actor in any mario game is bad by definition. How they turned "plumber from brooklyn" into "gay italian castrato" is beyond me. Maybe the Japanese voiceovers are awesome, but I really doubt it.
  • The same voice actor does both american and japanese versions of the game (or rather, the same voice acting is in both versions) so there is no way it would be better in Japan :D Charles Martinet did the Mario voice acting from around Super Mario 64 or so.
  • Oh man, I can't wait for that.
