Having SMTP outgoing mail issues

Not sure why my smtp is not working but I am a Google Apps user. I have followed the smtp set up according to - https://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=78799.

If anyone can help point me in the right direction it would be great.

    Sorry for the post, but it looks like changing from (SSL) to (TLS) fixed the problem.
