Recent Activity, Is it meant to show posts? Or just new registrations?

Just installed Vanilla a few hours ago, really like it so far.
I am confused by the recent activity though, I cannot find any settings for this page, and it only shows registrations at this point? No recent posts or other activity:

I noticed over at http://lovefre.sh/support/activity there do seem to be posts showing in the stream.

Are there some hidden config options somewhere?

As far as I have worked out, no it does not show posts. Any posts you are seeing are posts that were made on the user's "wall" by typing them into the Activity page. If you type on your own activity page it will set your status, which shows in your profile. It's a little bit Facebooky.
