Write down here step by step, what you did. what are you calling the vanilla software folder on your server? eg, if you folder is called 'beastleaguegaming' then you need to use 'http://www.yourdomain.com/beastleaguegaming/' open this in your browser and follow the prompts.

*Important* once you download the latest vanilla to your puter, extract it from the zip first. then you have a folder called 'vanilla_2.0.xxx'.

you can leave it with that name if its easier, or rename it to something like 'forum'.

now you upload this folder to the ROOT of your server. The very first 'main' folder on your server where everything else is.

    e.g /beastleaguegaming@beastleaguegaming.DreamHost.com/

Note* you need to have set up your mysql database first because during the install process you will be asked for your database host, database name, database password etc.

My domain is BeastLeagueGaming.com and I wish to setup Vanilla as my Forum (i.e. beastleaguegaming.com/forum)

I uploaded the entire Vanilla_2.0.17.10 folder (i.e http://www.beastleaguegaming.com/Vanilla_2.0.17.10) and setup everything how it should be. My databases are all properly setup. Am I doing something wrong?

Whats happening exactly? Im seeing your forum when I go to the addy you just posted.
try clearing your browser cache then go to that addy again....

    image

to make it called http://www.beastleaguegaming.com/forum, presumably because youve setup button or link paths to /forum on your website, then...

you need to change the name of the folder 'Vanilla_2.0.17.10' to 'forum' BEFORE you upload to your server.

If you want to do that, delete folder 'Vanilla_2.0.17.10' from your server, extract from zip again, rename it 'forum' and upload again, then go to http://www.beastleaguegaming.com/forum

and follow what you did before. :)

See I did the entire renaming thing as well and I get an error. I filled out all of the info for setup, click continue and it loads a page with the following:
'Fatal error: Class 'CategoryModel' not found in /home/adminblg/beastleaguegaming.com/forum/applications/vanilla/settings/structure.php on line 60'

I have no clue what it is I am doing wrong :\

you have, in the setup page, for database host 'localhost' (by default), it needs to be your database server name. try again and make really sure you havent done any typos, redo password feilds, since you cant see what your typing.

    Go here http://www.beastleaguegaming.com/forum/dashboard/setup

If that dosent work, delete the whole thing, clear your browser cache, particularly form autofill, and try again. Not sure why thats happening but a fresh clean install might work, took me about 8 tries LOL! :)

Infact you might want to clean install with the newest version here

*Very Important* Make sure you only download from

    https://github.com/vanillaforums/Garden/zipball/Vanilla_2.0.18rc2

    *DONT FORGET*
to make it called http://www.beastleaguegaming.com/forum, presumably because youve setup button or link paths to /forum on your website, then...

you need to change the name of the folder 'Vanilla_2.0.18rc2' to 'forum' BEFORE you upload to your server.
