i have a couple of threads on my board with over 2300 comments. and growing. will this eventually cause problems if the threads get too big? maybe i should lock them and start Version2s of them? Any suggestions?

camo is right 2300 comment is a bit pain to read. i suggest locking it and continuing in a new thread. that's also what is normally see on other forums. if thread gets bigger like hundreds.. the thread starter closes it and opens a new one for continuation.

Nobody will read all through a thread that long, I would try to limit thread to a few hundred comments, even then, nobody reads them all. Maybe theres a way to code an 'autolock' with a message?

Super long threads do cause more io and will thus be slower than short threads.
