Why can't I use the {php} smarty tag?

In mobile version can't read php code which insert {php}{/php}.

    We don't support the {php} smarty tags in Vanilla.

    seriously if you are going as far as to use those tags you should use the php template instead. It kind of defeats the point of having a template engine.

    grep is your friend.
