How do I see which Question/Discussion is read by me?

I'm sure I'm missing an obvious thing, but can't find it. If I want to read all new comments and discussions in a Vanilla Forum, how do they differentiate from already read ones?
BTW: Is there any user documentation? http://vanillaforums.org/docs seems to be only for developers and admins, not just users.

    I noticed they recently removed the unread markers from vanillaforums.org, not sure why.
