Problems forcing forum to be viewed through the Remote Url

edited November 2011 in Vanilla 2.0 - 2.8
I have noticed that if a link from the forum is opened in a new window or a permalink is shared/accessed that part of the URL gets duplicated for some reason (example: 'http://mydomain.com/vanilla_directory/index.php?p=/index.php?p=/discussion/2/discussion_title') causing the Page Not Found error to show after the actual forum page flashes for a brief moment. Other than that the forum works wonderfully within Wordpress.

Is there something I need to look out for to avoid this? Is there another way to force all URLs in the system to use the the http://mydomain.com/wp_forum_page/#/discussion/6/discussion_title format?

Perhaps this is caused by having .htaccess rewrites happening for WP and VF?

I updated to 2.0.18 and still not having any luck. In fact, nothing is happening when the forum is accessed outside of the remote URL whereas before it was giving me an error.
BTW, this question is NOT answered.
