Idea: Members to sponsor addons
There have been quite a lot of questions recently, asking or things that involve major development, and some of these guys are expecting something for nothing, and aren't willing to do the work themselves.
One of the problems is becuase the framework is so adaptable people expect it the a able to build itself how they want.
I see there is supposed to be a developer list. How about a feature that is on site, that allows the sponsoring of addons, for developers to snap up. Based on it being open source thereafter. Also the same to update old plugins.
This is for people who want things now, or specific addons that might never get built otherwise.
Addon repository is more sketchy than say wordpress, obviously there is a long way to go, but this would encourage it along.
Some sort of paypal or escrow system could facilitate.

The plugin repository is sparser than well known frameworks, and cms, etc. It can suffer for quality control issues, especially between versions.
This generates interest in development. Also if it is done well it could encourage collaboration and cross pollination of ideas.
It will also be expressly for open source development.
