Does the software send data to this website?

It's based on downloads from vanillaforums.org. It doesn't include any of the partners that offer vanilla as a download or automated install (web hosts, for example).

On the homepage [ http://vanillaforums.org/ ], it states "Vanilla is forum software that powers discussions on 503,300 sites"
I'd like to know how the "503,300" is obtained, is it based on downloads?
