Vanilla 2.0.18.1 cant install on windows xampp

Cant get passed first page on setup.

Database is created. Temp config file with database details gets created. blank config.php is created then i get redirected back to the same initial setup page.

I have errors switched on - but I get no errors.

I have allow all in apache, pdo_mysql etc

Anyone any ideas?

Check Write able permissions problem with the install directory!!!!!!

I'd use WAMP instead, I've never had success with a lot of scripts on XAMPP: http://www.wampserver.com/en/

I was just about to post my workaound which was

//$Result = rename($TmpFile, $File);
$fh = fopen($File, 'w');
$Result = fwrite($fh, $FileContents); 

but your solution is better.

Hello,
I also know a software called AMPPS. Its a Softaculous product. Vanilla can be installed just by a click. Hope this helps some one.
