Sending Email...
Is there any way to email the user(s) when a new comment is posted to their topic? I think sending email is a very powerful tool to keep people engaging.

Where is the subscription button? How do they do this?

You bookmark any discussion to subscribe it. After bookmarking, any updates to it will be mailed to you by default. You can change this behaviour from profile settings.
If you make some good changes in the config file, you can have mails sent for new discussion, updates and comments.
Tip: Dont overload your users will mail else they will hate you after some time.
