Can I change the name of the root directory Vanilla lies in?

edited September 2006 in Vanilla 1.0 Help
Well that's my question really. I'm contemplating on changing the path from /forum/ to /community/. If I change the name of the directory vanilla lies in will it disrupt anything else? I'm presuming it would, and if so would settings would I need to change in order for it to still work? Thanks again for your help.

Take a look at your appg/settings.php file and you should see pretty quickly what will need to be changed. Ones that spring to mind are: application_path, domain, cookiedomain...
  • That's great, thanks Mark. I'll take a look at the file now.
  • I changed mine but it took alot of updating to do it, I managed to find all the necessary items except one (styles) had to change that in the database, seems like theres too many places to update a simple thing like changing the root directory (folder) after I went into make the changes on some files I notice there were 3-4 in source code that showed the old folder
