How to add a page containing "role specific" information?

Can anybody point me in the right direction here?? I would like to add a feature so that users with specific roles can access a page containing "role specific" information i.e I have created two new roles "Parents" & "Children", I would like to offer pdf's that only certain roles can download by adding an extra "download" tab to the top nav. Any clever folk have any ideas??

You could give the Page Manager extension a try, but for some people the hooking mechanism dosn't seem to work, so don't be surprised if it dosn't work properly.

Thanks for the extension, it sounds like everything I am asking for. Having a few problems though. Ive created my new page and tabs but they dont appear? Can you point me in the right direction? Cheers
