integrate with my sites profiles?
Everything works great, problem is.. I would like a link on the forum profiles that would allow people to access their profiles on my site. I know I can connect GDN_UserAuthentication with GDN_User to do it... problem is that the source code for vanilla is ... outrageously confusing.
On a side note, I also want to disable profile comments.

I can't think of a way to help you that wouldn't be outrageously confusing to you.
I symathyze with both of you guys.
I also feel the code is confusing but I take it as a challenge to figure it out and the more I do the more i realize that the design is quite amazing and if you know what you are doing the solutions you can come up with are really elegant.
Let's face it, it takes some 'under the hood' complexity to get this sort of framework working.
But, indeed, there is a steep learning curve if you want to do something of the sort LXZ is trying to do and the Vanilla team cannot engage in private lessons.
All I can say from my own experience is dig in, don't give up and you will get it as it is all there!
Still, a bit less 'in your face' response could me more appropriate to the un-initiated
