Guests & Feeds

edited March 2006 in Vanilla 1.0 Help
Hi all! I have enabled the "who's online" extension as well as unchecked the "allow non members to browse..." box in my forum. The "who's online" extension lists down who's logged on in my forum, but occasionally it states "guest" in red at the bottom, sometimes up to 4 of them. How is that so? This forum is very private, and I'm afraid that people are able to browse without registering or there's some loophole somewhere. Also, how do i disable the feeds? Sorry, noob here! Thanks!

  • To disable feeds in 0.9.2.6 (i assume thats what you're using - otherwise feeds are enabled/disabled with extensions) you simply need to remove the feeds folder in your vanilla installation. It shouldnt cause any problems elsewhere.

As for the guests thing, i believe thats a known bug with whos online and as memory serves i think it was something to do with people who've just logged in or out (as it only updates every 5 minutes, i think). Try doing a bit of searching round these forums and you might come up trumps with some results.
  • Thanks!!!
