vanilla DB error

I have not touched my site in a week and this just happened randomly today when I enter my web address: "A fatal, non-recoverable error has occurred Technical information (for support personel): Error Message: The connection to the database failed. Affected Elements: Database.OpenConnection(); For additional support documentation, visit the Lussumo Documentation website at: lussumo.com/support" Any ideas of what could be causing this? This is soooo random. I have no clue.

nevermind..... it seems that it might be the server; not vanilla related..... thanks : )

Yeah, unless you're hosting the site yourself, your host's database server probably just went down.

I have the same problem now, except the fact that the server is ok and running, it`s only the forum, that`s not functioning...
I guess it is Vanilla related after all...

first, i got the following error while the forum still loaded:

Warning: Unknown(): write failed: No space left on device (28) in Unknown on line 0

Warning: Unknown(): Failed to write session data (files). Please verify that the current setting of session.save_path is correct (/tmp/) in Unknown on line 0

......................

Then, it occured and disappeared several times, until finally I got the "database failed" message. Now it disappeared and the forum loads normally. During the time the error message was present, all other sections of my site were functioning.

p.s. I`ve been told that IT IS actually a database server issue, sorry.
