Is there a way to add a check box for when someone is writing a post that enables them to receives an email when someone replies?
I know users can make the change in preferences but it would be more convenient if they could see the option when writing their post.

They can bookmark that post and in preferences they can enable email notifications for bookmarked discussions as an easy convenient way

Yes, like I said I know it can be done in preferences but someone that just started using the forum may not be aware of that.
If the box was placed on the page where the post was written than the person would instantly be aware of the feature.

I have also seen other forums place it below the text box which is where I would prefer it to be.
