Clearing up space on your Apple Mac?

edited March 2006 in Vanilla 1.0 Help
Hey everybody. An unrelated question here, making space on your hard drives for those of you who have or work on a Macs. I'm in desperate need of some space, but I have little I can clear up in terms of personal documents. So I'm looking for some tips on managing my hard drive space, or maybe some good programs I can use to help me? Any would be very much appreciated, thank you.

  • Grab hold of an app called OmniDiskSweeper: it's from the OmniGroup. You need to pay to delete stuff from within the app, but you can use it for free to see where the big spaceating documents hang out on your drive. Very helpful.
  • Paying for OmniDiskSweeper is well worth it.
  • Thanks guys, checked it out and found the culprit that is taking up so much space on my hard drive. 50 gig is being taken up by backups!!! Never realised 'Back up' was using so much space. Thanks again.
