Just show the discussion title

edited January 2012 in Vanilla 2.0 - 2.8

Does anyone know how to make it so it just shows the discussion title? Like it does on this?

Thanks,
Amphios

You need to be able to search all your Vanila folders for a text string.

If you can't do it on your webserver, download your Vanilla folder to your local PC and install Agent Ransack, and then search.

You mean on discussions page??? It's by default. Showing excerpts or full discussion body is through a plugin. Try going through plugins and disabling one by one to check which on is displaying the body

There was an error rendering this rich post.

The only plugins I have enabled dont seem to affect that.

Anyone know the answer to this? I've looked at the plugins, none do it.

I'm not really sure what you are asking for.

Can you post an image of what you have, and show what you would like different?

Basically, www.amphicraft.com has the discussions showing all the text. I want it like these forums, where it just shows the title. Then if you click it it shows all the text.

That isn't default behaviour, so I guess it must be called by a plugin.

You have minify enabled, so it isn't possible to see what plugins are being called.

AfaIk, if you want to see edits to css or js you have to turn off minify, check the changes are how you want, then you can re-enable minify.

    I can't tell.

You need to find what in your Vanilla has this comment:

<!-- THIS INSERTS AND EXCERPT OF EACH POST -->

Use something like Agent Ransack to search your Vanilla folders for some or all of that message.

    You're welcome.

I think the idea, generally, is that rather than edit the core we should copy files over into our custom theme and edit them there.

Then, when there is an update, the changes aren't lost.
