where have my default.master.php and tmp gone?

edited February 2012 in Vanilla 2.0 - 2.8

I want to add a button to the menu bar through default.master.tmp like i did once before; http://vanillaforums.org/discussion/18167
but i can't find the location of the right scripts.
i'm using the latest Vanilla version (2.0.18.2) and the FaceBook colours theme.

What am i missing here?

Sounds like u customised core files then upgraded. Always create your own theme , copy files across and work on your custom files,

Search vanilla for theming and themes and customisation

  • The Theme i was using; Facebook colours, doesn't have a default.master.TMP file
I copied the views folder from the default smarty theme.
Now i have a default.master.tpl to play with.
i added menu items very easily with that.
@422 Does using a downloaded template conform to your suggestion of creating my own theme? even though i am using a downloaded theme from the community, it isn't a core file is it?
