css help - revisited

I did some more work on my website this morning, and have a little trouble with the homepage and internet explorer (surprised?) Could anyone take a quick look and tell me where I am going wrong by any chance. In IE, the left side of the page is BELOW the right. They are supposed to be about even.     If you read the text you see that in FF part of it is hidden behind the image: the word "clients" doesn't appear. Seeing the line at the bottom, I think that in both IE and FF it should be outlined a bit the the left. That will make more space between the twho images (not overlapping).

    Oh yeah. Well. I don't have the time at the moment to work on my own stuff, I am so busy with school and work. So I am going to cheat in the meantime, with the entire background as an image, so spacing works and everything and use it like a giant image map (ussing css sprites - sort of). Thanks for looking though. If I need help when I get back into doing it properly, I will bring it up here again.
