The plans really aren't affordable for a lot of communities. For example, my community is generating close to a million page views a month, but there is no where near enough revenue to justify paying $550 a month for a hosted Vanilla solution, especially just to get the Badges feature. It's just an absurd amount in general.

Then host yourself and forget about badges. Whats the big deal about badges ?

Just a nice to have feature. And it would be super nice if some one would just offer us this plug-in
Yeah, sure. They just don't fit because we have more PIs/month.
Anyways. I didn't want to upset anybody by asking for a plug-in.
So is there any alternative badges plugin that is open source (or available to non hosted users) that does about the same??
