How do I add text to the 'front page'

When running Vanilla I want to add HTML just above the content (ie the list of "All Discussion") on the first page. Anyway idea what file I must edit and where to add the HTML that I want to appear above all discussion on the first page?

    Without an extension of some sort, you're gonna be left hacking away at the Vanilla source which might not be a breeze in it's current state. How confident are you with your php editing skills?

    Not very at this stage :) I'll wait for v1 before I do anything drastic though
