Suggestions on plugins to Minimize (Not Delete) a Message?

In the standard Vanilla setup, admin can "allow users to dismiss" messages.

Is there any way to minimize, instead of delete, messages? Is there a plug-in that'd accomplish this?

I'd like users to be able to minimize, and possibly re-open later, a message on the discussions page, which is currently where visitors arrive.

    You could do that quite simply using jquery toggle. Sure someone could create this very easily.
