vanilla forum & size of community

hi, i'm looking for a forum software and i read this review http://www.forum-software.org/vanilla/review

the review says that Vanilla Forums is recommended for Medium Community (1000-9999 members or 150.000 posts).

what do you think about this?
is there any problem about Big(large) community forum?

  • vanilla on nginx could cope with large number an there are plenty of optimisations you could do.

    However the number of really big forum are few and far between, if you have the the right hosting package there is no reason why you couldn't handle the load.

    As far as I know there isn't one, Vanilla seems perfectly capable of handling large communities, and according to the devs that's exactly what it was designed for:
