Is it a good idea to download & install plugins directly from GitHub?
One can always find the latest version of plugins developed/supported by Vanilla Forums team from these two places on the team's GitHub account:
- https://github.com/vanillaforums/Addons/tree/master/plugins
The thing is, the same plugins available from http://vanillaforums.org/addons are mostly un-updated for months. So, I am thinking about downloading the plugins directly from GitHub.
Would that be a good idea? Can someone from Vanilla Forums Inc. team comment?
Thanks.

definitely these are shipped core anyway.
https://github.com/vanillaforums/Addons/tree/master/plugins
is fine so long as you have all the requirements, generally yes.
grep is your friend.

Not all here https://github.com/vanillaforums/Garden/tree/master/plugins are core plugins. For example 'Button Bar'.
And thanks for clarifying.
they will be in core soon.
