I like mine. It's a heavily-customized version of Bittersweet, one of the themes packed in with the 2.1 development version, which you can get yourself off of github. Bittersweet is a very well done default theme, and I've put a lot of work into making it look and act in exactly the way I want. Some elements are copied from the PA forums, some from AllHipHop, and some are my own improvements.
Traditional forum layout in category and discussion views, using Vanilla 2.1 as a starting point
Panel hidden under most views
Reiszed and repositioned avatars
Badges for mods & admins
Per-user custom titles (via CSS)
Restyled and repositioned WhosOnline plugin output (won't display if you're not logged in)
Bunch of other stuff I'm too sleepy to remember
I haven't bothered packaging the theme up yet for distribution because Bittersweet isn't available for release yet (aside from being up on github) and neither it nor my modified version will work with Vanilla versions prior to 2.1. Once 2.1 hits and Bittersweet is finalized and blessed, I plan to post the theme here.
@LeeH You did a great work. Nice theme, great look, great color scheme.
@LeftBrain Your themes are not very much customized but still they have a great color scheme. You did a nice work on CSS.
Here is my theme http://blog75.net76.net/vanilla/vanilla/.
It is still in the process of development. I've uploaded it on a test server.
Any suggestions for it?
I love these http://www.askindia.info (this one for the Ad placement) and http://pinoyau.info/ (for its extra features like ad posting, etc) I'm planning to set up my own forum on these two lines using Vanilla.
I have checked out quite a few of the templates online, but many of them require lots of customization just to get them to work and most don't flow that well.
I still think the "Vanilla" standard theme is a great starting point and can be customized quite easily to get the look and functionality that you are looking for. Here is my customized Vanilla theme: http://mactalker.com
