Vanilla Comments appends whole page title to discussions

Hi folks-

I'm running Vanilla Comments on my site, and the plugin automatically creates a forums thread for every post on my blog.

The problem that I have is that VC creates a thread using the full HTML page title, so I end up with HUGE thread titles in the forum (example here)

So I can go and remove the appended page titles by hand but I'd rather find an automated solution. Any ideas?

    I have a near identical issue in that I don't like the format it uses to automatically generate discussions based on blog posts.

    There must be a php function somewhere that is governing how these discussions are created.

    Any experts know how to solve this?
