Internal 301 Redirect Not Working

I need help here. I added a 301 redirect for the following url through cpanel
http://indianfootballnetwork.com/forum/discussion/1007/nehru-cup-2012

But when I enter the old url, it doesn't redirect. I had deleted the old thread so it shows 'page not found'. Can anyone get me through this please?

The new url is as follows
http://indianfootballnetwork.com/forum/discussion/448/2012-nehru-cup

    You mean dashboard routes?

    discussion/448/2012-nehru-cup -> discussion/1007/nehru-cup-2012

    should work.

    I didnt realize i cud do it thru dashboard. Vanilla keeps surprising me
