Moving Title Banner

edited June 2012 in Vanilla 2.0 - 2.8

Hi There,

First Id like to say I agree with the other comments, its a fantastic theme,one of the best I have seen.

But I am having problems with the Banner, we would like to use our club logo as the banner and it seems to be in the middle under the menu and over the top of everything. Is there any way of moving it, either up to the very top of over to the left (like where the "Jolie" in the original screen shot)

Any Help would be great, I have attached a screen shot of our site below to help explain

    You need to activate the new theme you are using. I can then give you css fixes hopefully

  • The www.ozutes.com.au domain?

    When I activate it is shows the same, with the logo over the top of everything.

    If you could that would be great.

    I get plain theme when i view. Perhaps you have different theme for logged in users.

    You are using minify, so that needs to be turned off

    Not perfect ( because the theme needs work ) but should get you on the way.

    #Head {height:190px;float:left;}

    body #Head h1 {padding-top:10px;}

    div.Menu {margin-top:80px;}

    Adding these attributes ( changes ) to your custom.css ...you still have minify running, so will need to clear cache to see changes

  • awesome thanks i'll give that a go

    probably a noob question but how do I minify the running, I looked for that yesterday

    it seems to be all messed up once I have done that and the background is missing, is this correct?

    1. #Head {height:190px;float:left;}
    2. body #Head h1 {padding-top:10px;}
    3. div.Menu {margin-top:80px;}
    4. /*
    5. */
    6. 10.body {
    7. background: #131313 url(bg-body.jpg) no-repeat center top;
    8. background-attachment: fixed;
    9. color:#fff;
    10. font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;
    11. font-weight:normal;
    12. text-align:center;

    you need to add the code I made to your existing css, not totally replace what I did with what you have. Unfortunately, you will need to learn how css works.

    The fixes I gave, need to be made to your custom theme, currently minify is the issue, because it is renaming and caching your css file. I cannot assist when minify is even in the picture as it stuffs everything up .

    I cannot help but repeat this.

    WHY THE F**K DO PPL USE MINIFY !!!!!! on a forum that runs clean virtually pure css pages, it just does not make sense.

    Get rid of minify.

    Your theme utilises a css file called custom.css

    You make edits to this file ONLY.

    The edits I gave, if you find example #Head in your css file, then add or change the selecter value based on my recommendations.

    If you get stuck, I can do it for you as freelance but theres really no need, its very very simple.

  • Ahhh now i'm getting what your saying, I have changed the existing codes to add in what you had. i'll see how that goes

    Thanks

  • that's looking better but now no background

    Ok you can message me if you get stuck, im in Brisbane so gonna be online most of the day :)

    Best of Luck

    Thanks, The only thing I have a problem with now is the Background is not showing, is this a minify problem?

  • 422422 Developer MVP

    more than likely, revert all edits you have done today.

    Then disable or open a window and lob minify out of it with a brick tied to it.

    Goto cache folder , delete all .ini files

    Reload page.
