How to include into site design: header and footter?

edited April 2006 in Vanilla 1.0 Help
I think this has probably been asked before (edit: ive just found one, i swear that wasnt there before!), but quite simply i'd like to add my own header and footer to the (very lovely) forum software (to keep constant navigation and the like). I've had a faff round but not got very far. so as a general request some kind of plugin that simply allows you to put yer own bit at the top and bottom would be great!

Otherwise, if anyone could point me in the direction of the right file? I'm not adverse to a bit of dirty hacking that means i cant upgrade (for now...)

ta!

  • actually a search for 'header' brings up several threads asking the same question :)
if you're using 0.9.2, check out this post. It's an extension to include an html header, and it could be easily modified to include a footer as well.

but if you wait for 1.0, there's a templating system that makes it a lot easier to do this kind of thing. plus loads of other fixes and improvements. you can get it now via SVN (see the first sticky thread) or wait for the public release, which should be very soon.
  • awesome, thankyou :)

i think i was searching for 'include'...
