While I'm sure that question makes sense to you, it isn't very clear.
Change the name where?
Where is it currently displayed, and what would you like to change it to?
do you mean in the banner option title under appearance in the dashboard?
I may not provide the completed solution you might desire, but I do try to provide honest suggestions to help you solve your issue.
Sorry.
My site's name as it appears
-- in the dashboard area
-- in the [brackets] of emails to users
-- on the page title
OH DUH.
I feel like an idiot. Here I am browsing through the wiki, searching all over, grepping things... and it's right there. I was blinded by my big logo when I went and looked at that part of the dashboard, and so I moved on.
Thx peregrine.
it's in the config.php also you had two ways to find it. .

hehe. Nice. way to help me savor the fail :-)
@peregrine, since your comments have been so helpful to me, I figured I'd show you the site I've put together:
http://connectedfamilies.org/forums
You have a empty img tag after your header h1
<img src="">
Apears broken in browsers, and is throwing an error. Just delete it from your default.master.php
Looks good

If you couldn't find it on the Wiki (and it wasn't there) can you please add it to the Wiki?

I will add that to my list of things to put on the wiki. I officially am sticking with VF for one of my major projects, so I'll be around to fulfill that list.
Also, what do you recommend for me as a means of urging "the vanilla people" about getting a prominent link to the wiki? (and other off-site docs, I found one other significant vanilla documentation site...)
