highlighting in categories for new comments in discsussion

Hey folks,
I´m running a vanilla 2.0.18
Till now we got a list of discussion and I want to categorise them.
At the moment the users got a highlight on the discussion if a new comment was posted in them. I used the categorisation option (Dashboard -> Forum -> Kategorien) to sort the discussion into categories. Now I want the categories to be highlighted if there's a highlighted discussion in them.
Could you please show me how to manage that. The one to show me how to do it will get virtal hug ;-)
