Vanilla Forum embeded in current website

I downloaded the vanilla forum to the public_html folder of the website through the server & I want the forum to have the website's header & navigation. There is a folder called "forum"...how do I get the forum embeded into the website? It seems like I need a .htm page, but how do I get the forum into that page?
